Q: What can you tell us about your soccer accomplishments?
I played varsity as the goalkeeper for Middleton High School for four years, and went to college with a scholarship to play Division I soccer at Valparaiso University. I've been coaching ever since the end of my senior season, with a two-year hiatus. I recently completed my National D coaching license.

Q: What is your earliest soccer memory?
The first time I was put in goal was when I was about 10. The usual goalkeeper was injured. It was on the small soccer field right as you enter Shorewood Village. We were tied with the Shorewood team, and the clock was winding down. With about five minutes left in the game, the ref called a PK against my team. Now the shot was right at me, but I saved it and became the goalkeeper for my team. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Q: What was your most embarrassing moment on the soccer field?
I'm sure I've had plenty, but I can't seem to think of one.

Q: What's your favorite food?
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

Q: What's your favorite vacation spot?
Anywhere I can drive to. The drive, for me, is more fun than the destination. You can experience so much more driving than flying.

Q: Who is your hero?
Very cliché, but my mom is my hero. Through everything she has been through, including raising me, she has been so patient, loving and supportive. She always let me make my own mistakes, but she was there to help me if I ever stumbled. And now, as an adult, she's become one of my best friends.

Q: What's the best part of coaching children?
Kids really put you in your place and they are brutally honest. I think my favorite coaching memory was from last spring. I was told that I am too old to say, "dude" -- Which was news to me because I think people were saying "dude" long before I was born. It was the first time I truly felt old. In addition to their honesty, kids are so energetic. Even when I have a bad day, the kids are always there with smiles and excitement to be at soccer. That just makes my day!

Q: What was your favorite class in grade school?
I feel like it's been too long to remember grade school, but I think I liked gym and music the best.

Q: What's your dream job?
I think my dream would be to try every job, maybe just for a year. I've always wanted to know what it's like to be a pilot, police officer, vet/doctor; high school teacher, photographer, and so on. Variety is the spice of life, right?

Q: What's your greatest accomplishment?
Completing my National D license on my first attempt over five days in the July heat!

In addition to coaching the U15/16 Girls White team, Coach Templin leads the U13 Girls White team.
She completed her National D license on her first attempt.
